World’s Largest Dog Wash Supporting Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids to be Held July 28 at Fifth Third Ballpark

PRESS RELEASE — Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids will host the 17th Annual World’s Largest Dog Wash at Fifth Third Ballpark on Sunday, July 28. The fundraiser will take place from 3-6 p.m. prior to the annual West Michigan Whitecaps “Dog Days” game. The pre-game festivities will feature dog washes, grooming, information from local pet vendors, pet trick contests and doggy bag giveaways.  This year’s event is presented by Bissell and Mix 95.7.

The dog wash has become an annual event after being started Cody Kropf, who was 8 years old at the time. Kropf became a member of Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids following the death of his father.

The cost to participate in the dog wash is $10 per dog. Proceeds will support cancer and grief programs offered through Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.

Tickets for the West Michigan Whitecaps 6 p.m. “Dog Days” game against the Great Lakes Loons can be purchased at A portion of the proceeds from tickets sold using the link will benefit Gilda’s Club.

“Started 17 years ago, it is thanks to the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Kropf family that the World’s Largest Dog Wash continues to be a true West Michigan tradition,” said Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids President Wendy Wigger. “We are encouraged by those who come out each year with their furry friends to support cancer and grief programs offered at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.”
