This is who we believe is going to win this year’s Golden Globes 2020

Whether you’re a movie buff or a celeb aficionado, this year’s Golden Globes is going to be jam-packed with your favorite actors, actresses, and beyond pining for a little golden statue. Even though some of our preferred actors and directors didn’t get nominated, we’re still excited to tune in on Sunday, January 5th, to see who is going to win.

Of course, with the Golden Globes right around the corner, we had to join in on the fun to guess who would win from each category. And while we want everyone to take home an award (honestly, there were SO many good TV shows and movies this year), below are the shows, movies, and people we believe are going to be awarded a Golden Globe.

Best Motion Picture – Drama

Nominations:

– Joker

– Marriage Story

– The Two Popes

1917

– The Irishman

Winner:

The Irishman. Because Martine Scorsese’s latest film is a three-and-a-half-hour crime story about family. And everyone your mother (and grandmother) loves is in it.

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy

Nominations:

– Dolemite Is My Name

– JoJo Rabbit

– Knives Out

– Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood

– Rocketman

Winner:

Rocketman. The Hollywood Foreign Press Assiociation (HFPA) always loves a good bio pic. Always.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama

Nominations:

– Cynthia Erivo – Harriet

– Scarlett Johansson – Marriage Story

– Saoirse Ronan – Little Women

– Charlize Theron – Bombshell

– Renée Zellweger – Judy

Winner:

Renée Zellweger. Her portrayal of Judy Garland is going to be the talk of the town.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama

Nominations:

– Christian Bale – Ford v Ferrari

– Antonio Banderas – Pain and Glory

– Adam Driver – Marriage Story

– Joaquin Phoenix – Joker

– Jonathan Pryce – The Two Popes

Winner:

Adam Driver was fantastic in Marriage Story, but we’re pretty sure Antonio Banderas is going to take the statue home because of his latest performance in Pain and Glory.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy

Nominations:

– Emma Thompson – Late Night

– Ana de Armas – Knives Out

– Awkwafina – The Farewell

– Cate Blanchett – Where’d You Go, Bernadette

– Beanie Feldstein – Booksmart

Winner:

Every actress was wonderful this year, but Awkwafina should win. Period.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy

Nominations:

– Daniel Craig – Knives Out

– Roman Griffin Davis – Jojo Rabbit

– Leonardo DiCaprio – Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood

– Taron Egerton – Rocketman

– Eddie Murphy – Dolemite Is My Name

Winner:

Eddie Murphy. However, if he doesn’t win a Golden Globe, he’ll definitely win an Oscar if he gets nominated.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture

Nominations:

– Margot Robbie – Bombshell

– Kathy Bates – Richard Jewell

– Annette Bening – The Report

– Laura Dern – Marriage Story

– Jennifer Lopez – Hustlers

Jennifer Lopez should win for her opening stripping scene alone.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture

Nominations:

– Tom Hanks – A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

– Anthony Hopkins – The Two Popes

– Al Pacino – The Irishman

– Joe Pesci – The Irishman

– Brad Pitt – Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood

Winner:

Joe Pesci is probably going to take the cake for this one. But our second bet will probably go to Tom Hanks, because Mr. Rogers is a beloved person.

Best Director – Motion Picture

Nominations:

– Bong Joon Ho – Parasite

– Sam Mendes – 1917

– Todd Phillips – Joker

– Martin Scorsese – The Irishman

– Quentin Tarantino – Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood

Winner:

Sam Mendes. His long one scene takes are breathtaking.

Best Motion Picture – Animated

Nominations:

– Missing Link

– Toy Story 4

– Frozen II

– How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

– The Lion King

Winner:

It doesn’t matter which one we choose, Disney will win.

Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language

Nominations:

– The Farewell

– Les Misérables

– Pain and Glory

– Parasite

– Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Winner:

Parasite. Parasite. Parasite.

Best Television Series – Drama

Nominations:

– Killing Eve

– The Morning Show

– Succession

– Big Little Lies

– The Crown

Winner:

Succession should win. But The Morning Show will probably win this Golden Globe.

Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy

Nominations:

– Barry

– Fleabag

– The Kominsky Method

– The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

– The Politician

Winner:

Fleabag. Do we need to say more?

Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominations:

– Catch-22

– Chernobyl

– Fosse/Verdon

– The Loudest Voice

– Unbelievable

Winner:

Fosse/Verdon will probably win this category only for the fact that it won a few Emmys. And Michelle Williams was fantastic as Gwen Verdon.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominations:

– Kaitlyn Dever – Unbelievable

– Joey King – The Act

– Helen Mirren – Catherine the Great

– Merritt Wever – Unbelievable

– Michelle Williams – Fosse/Verdon

Winner:

Helen Mirren will probably win because she’s Helen Mirren. But Kaitlyn Denver did an exceptional job in Unbelievable.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominations:

– Sacha Baron Cohen – The Spy

– Russell Crowe – The Loudest Voice

– Christopher Abbott – Catch-22

– Jared Harris – Chernobyl

– Sam Rockwell – Fosse/Verdon

Winner:

Jared Harris was great in Chernobyl. Sam was great in Fosse/Verdon. But Russell Crowe will most likely win for The Loudest Voice.

Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama

Nominations:

– Olivia Colman – The Crown

– Jodie Comer – Killing Eve

– Nicole Kidman – Big Little Lies

– Reese Witherspoon – The Morning Show

– Jennifer Aniston – The Morning Show

Winner:

If Jodie Comer doesn’t take a Golden Globe home, then everyone needs to go home.

Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series – Drama

Nominations:

– Kit Harington – Game of Thrones

– Rami Malek – Mr. Robot

– Tobias Menzies – The Crown

– Billy Porter – Pose

Brian Cox. Old-school actor with new school mentality. Done and done.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy

Nominations:

– Christina Applegate – Dead to Me

– Rachel Brosnahan – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

– Kirsten Dunst – On Becoming a God in Central Florida

– Natasha Lyonne – Russian Doll

– Phoebe Waller-Bridge – Fleabag

Winner:

Have you seen Fleabag? Phoebe Waller-Bridge will win. But we’re also fans of Natash Lyonne winning as well.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy

Nominations:

– Bill Hader – Barry

– Ben Platt – The Politician

– Paul Rudd – Living with Yourself

– Ramy Youssef – Ramy

– Michael Douglas – The Kominsky Method

Winner:

Hopefully, Ben Platt will win. But Michael Douglas will most likely take home the golden statue—because, once again, he’s Michael Douglas.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominations:

– Toni Collette – Unbelievable

– Meryl Streep – Big Little Lies

– Emily Watson – Chernobyl

– Patricia Arquette – The Act

– Helena Bonham Carter – The Crown

Winner:

Helena Bonham Carter completely transformed into Princess Margaret in The Crown. Not only is she mesmerizing, but her and Olivia Colman played so well against one another, it would be shame if one of them didn’t win.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominations:

– Alan Arkin – The Kominsky Method

– Kieran Culkin – Succession

– Andrew Scott – Fleabag

– Henry Winkler – Barry

– Stellan Skarsgård – Chernobyl

Winner:

Andrew Scott should win just because of that one confession scene. But the award will probably go to Alan Arkin or Henry Winkler.
